How much does a water heater replacement cost?
Flat and published: $2,000 installed for a 40-gallon tank, $2,100 installed for a 50-gallon. That flat price includes the new tank unit, professional installation, the permit, connection to your existing lines, and haul-away and disposal of your old unit. What can change the price: code-required upgrades β an expansion tank, venting changes, a drain pan, or relocating the unit. If your home needs any of those, we quote them up front, before work starts. The base price never changes mid-job.
How soon can you install it?
Honestly: timing depends on installer availability, and we'd rather tell you straight than promise a day we can't guarantee. Call or send the form and we'll tell you the earliest available slot right then β no-hot-water and leaking-tank calls get priority in the schedule. Once your slot is set, your price and time are locked in.
How do I book an install?
Call or text (636) 336-2866, or send the booking form on this page β it goes straight to the owner's inbox. We'll confirm your tank size and install time. Your price is the published flat rate: $2,000 installed for a 40-gallon, $2,100 installed for a 50-gallon.
How long does an installation take?
A typical like-for-like replacement takes 2β4 hours, including draining the old tank, setting and connecting the new one, testing it, and hauling the old unit away. Jobs that need venting changes, relocation, or significant code updates can take longer β we'll tell you up front if yours is one of those.
What size water heater do I need?
For most homes: a 40-gallon tank suits 1β2 bathrooms and smaller households (roughly 2β3 people), while a 50-gallon tank is the common pick for 3β4 people and homes with larger tubs or high-demand showers. Tell us your household size and bathrooms and we'll recommend the right fit β and if your current size has been running out, going up a size is usually easy while we're there.
What are the signs my water heater is failing?
The big ones: rusty or discolored hot water, rumbling or popping noises from the tank, running out of hot water faster than you used to, water around the base, temperatures that swing hot and cold, and simple age β most tank water heaters last 8β12 years. A leaking tank can't be repaired and should be replaced before it floods.
My tank is leaking right now. What should I do?
Turn off the water supply to the unit (the shut-off valve on the cold line above the tank) and, for gas units, turn the gas control to 'pilot'; for electric, flip the breaker. Then call us β leaking tanks get priority scheduling, and we'll tell you the earliest available slot straight.
Do I need a permit to replace a water heater?
In most St. Charles County cities, yes β replacing a water heater requires a permit and an inspection. We pull the permit and handle the inspection scheduling as part of the job, so your install is documented and up to code.
Who actually installs my water heater?
We do β through vetted local plumbers we dispatch. Every install is performed by a licensed, insured local installer, and your job is backed by a warranty on labor plus the manufacturer's tank warranty. When you call, text, or send the form, you're talking to us β your price is the published flat rate, we confirm your install time, and we stand behind the work.
Do you haul away the old unit?
Yes. Draining, removing, and disposing of your old water heater is included in every flat installed price β you don't have to figure out what to do with a 100-plus-pound tank.
Do you install gas and electric models?
Both. Most St. Charles County homes run gas or electric tank units, and we install 40- and 50-gallon models of each. Not sure what you have? Check the top of your tank: a metal vent pipe means gas, a thick electrical cable usually means electric β or just ask us.
What areas do you serve?
All of St. Charles County, Missouri: St. Charles, Wentzville, O'Fallon, St. Peters, Lake St. Louis, Cottleville, Dardenne Prairie, Weldon Spring, Foristell, and St. Paul.
